Story Achievements: Start With a Complete Playthrough
Ori and the Blind Forest achievements reward exploration, precise movement, and the ability to survive Nibel’s nastiest hazards. Planning your collection route keeps missed secrets from turning into another full playthrough. Use this Ori and the Blind Forest achievements roadmap to organize story progress, collectible cleanup, and the demanding challenge runs.
Check your edition before planning your route. The original game has important restrictions on revisiting areas, while the Definitive Edition includes the optional Blackroot Burrows area and the One Life Mode challenge discussed below.
The story achievements follow your journey through Nibel. Keep this checklist handy, but direct your attention toward collectibles and combat opportunities while progressing.
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| The Journey Begins | Complete the prologue. |
| The Ancient Being | Meet the Ancient Being. |
| Get Back Here! | Discover the character in the shadows. |
| Let's be Friends | Make an unexpected friend. |
| Rotten Inside | Enter the Ginso Tree. |
| Run for Your Life | Cleanse the Ginso Tree’s Heart. |
| Close Call | Escape a dangerous situation. |
| Obtaining Clarity | Clear the haze from the Misty Woods. |
| Solid Ground | Restore the winds of Nibel. |
| Fight to Live Another Day | Have a close encounter. |
| Top of the world | Climb to the top of Nibel. |
| Into the Fire | Enter Mount Horu. |
| Rekindle | Fan the flames. |
| Love | Experience a beloved bond. |
| The Journey Ends | Complete the game. |
Use this playthrough to learn Bash aiming, enemy behavior, and escape sequences. Practice difficult jumps while a death costs a checkpoint instead of an entire run.
Avoid placing a speedrun deadline on your exploration attempt. Searching every corner and learning unfamiliar hazards compete with the focused routing needed for Supersonic.

Missable and Collectible Achievements: Check Before Leaving
Several Ori and the Blind Forest achievements track separate forms of completion. Visiting the entire map, finding every secret, collecting cells, and restoring Map Stones each have their own requirements.

In the original release, pay particular attention to the Ginso Tree, Misty Woods, Forlorn Ruins, and Mount Horu. These areas contain missable exploration opportunities. Entering Mount Horu also prevents you from returning to the rest of Nibel, so finish your outside cleanup beforehand.
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Master Guardian | Collect all Health Cells. |
| Powerhouse | Collect all Energy Cells. |
| So Many Secrets | Find your first secret. |
| Seasoned Explorer | Find 50% of all secrets. |
| No Stone Unturned | Find all secrets. |
| Marking the way | Restore your first Map Stone. |
| Halfway There | Restore 50% of all Map Stones. |
| World at Your Feet | Restore all Map Stones. |
| Master of the Forest | Visit 100% of the map. |
| Good Eye | Find the lost corridor in the Misty Woods. |
| Safe and Sound | Save at every Spirit Portal. |
For Master of the Forest, inspect darker, unvisited portions of revealed maps. Revealing an area through a Map Stone and physically exploring it are different tasks.
For Good Eye, check the hidden corridor at the far-left end of the Misty Woods after clearing the mist. The corridor also contains an ability point.
For Safe and Sound, actually save at each Spirit Portal. The original game has nine, including one near the Spirit Tree that is not marked like the other eight. Remember the portals inside the Ginso Tree and Forlorn Ruins.
Before advancing through a restricted area, check:
- Accessible Health Cells and Energy Cells collected.
- Secret passages explored.
- Available Map Stones restored.
- Spirit Portals used to save.
- Remaining reachable map sections visited.
Keep a separate checklist for secrets. A completed map alone does not satisfy the requirement to find every secret.
Combat Achievements: Make Each Encounter Count
Start working on combat-related Ori and the Blind Forest achievements as their required abilities become available. Rotate your finishing attacks so you build progress toward several goals during exploration.

| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Deadly Detonation | Kill four enemies simultaneously with Charge Flame. |
| Flying Fury | Kill three enemies without touching the ground. |
| Deadly Deflection | Kill 25 enemies with projectiles reflected using Bash. |
| Deadly Dodge | Trick five enemies into killing another enemy. |
| Self Destruction | Cause an enemy to destroy itself. |
| Crushing Blow | Crush a Ram with a Stomper. |
| Stomp Master | Kill 50 enemies with Stomp. |
| Blast Master | Kill 100 enemies with Charge Flame. |
| Flame Master | Kill 500 enemies with Spirit Flame. |
| Deadly Dash | Kill five enemies with Charge Jump. |
| Bash Master | Bash off enemies 10 consecutive times without touching the ground. |
Combine Charge Flame and Airborne Kills
Look for a large Ooze that divides into smaller enemies. Use Charge Flame to break it down, then catch four small Oozes in another blast while airborne.
This setup lets you pursue Deadly Detonation and Flying Fury together. Bring enough energy for the two Charge Flame attacks.
Aim Bash Projectiles Deliberately
Bash sends Ori in your selected direction and the targeted projectile in the opposite direction. Aim Ori away from the enemy you want the projectile to hit.
Practice that relationship before attempting long airborne chains. For Bash Master, keep clear of walls and ceilings as well as the ground. An armored enemy that survives repeated Bash interactions provides an opportunity to continue the chain.
Separate Stomp From Stomper
Stomp Master uses Ori’s Stomp ability. Crushing Blow requires a falling Stomper trap to crush a Ram.
For Crushing Blow, lure the charging enemy beneath the trap and time your movement so the falling obstacle catches it.
During cleanup, alternate between Spirit Flame, Charge Flame, and Stomp according to your remaining requirements. Finish outstanding combat goals before entering Mount Horu in the original release.
Ability, Movement, and Resource Achievements
The remaining Ori and the Blind Forest achievements encourage you to use Soul Links, develop the Ability Tree, and connect movement skills.

| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Choices Choices | Spend your first ability point. |
| Soul Master | Earn all Efficiency skills in the Ability Tree. |
| Utility Master | Earn all Utility skills in the Ability Tree. |
| Combat Master | Earn all Combat skills in the Ability Tree. |
| Phenom | Earn every skill in the Ability Tree. |
| Life Saver | Create 50 Soul Links. |
| Power Player | Collect 200 Energy Shards. |
| Juggle Master | Juggle a rock five times without letting it touch the ground. |
| Airborne | Double Jump five consecutive times without touching the ground. |
| A New Path | Open five shortcuts using Charge Flame. |
On your collection playthrough, prioritize abilities that improve exploration and Spirit Light collection. Spirit Efficiency increases the experience gained from enemy kills, while collectible-revealing abilities help direct your searches.
Develop movement and survival upgrades as you continue exploring. Keep the Elite challenge for a separate run if you plan to purchase Ability Tree upgrades here.
For Airborne, use the looping portals in the Ginso Tree to remain airborne while repeating Double Jump. Another option is to alternate Double Jump with Bash targets without landing.
For Juggle Master, use the movable rock in the spacious Sorrow Pass cave. Bash the rock upward, jump after it, and repeat. Keep the rock away from the floor, walls, and ceiling throughout the sequence.
Collect Energy Shards from enemies and breakable blue crystals as you travel. Create Soul Links during ordinary exploration to build toward Life Saver while maintaining useful checkpoints.
Challenge Runs and Your 100% Completion Order
The demanding Ori and the Blind Forest achievements ask you to change how you play. Speed, an untouched Ability Tree, and survival place different pressures on your route.
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Supersonic | Finish the game in under three hours. |
| Elite | Complete the game without spending an ability point. |
| Immortal | Complete the game without dying. |
| Unhinged | Complete One Life Mode in the Definitive Edition. |
For Elite, leave your ability points unspent throughout the run. Practice with the movement tools acquired through story progression so your route does not depend on optional Ability Tree upgrades.
For Supersonic, rehearse a direct route and remove unnecessary exploration. Keep collectible hunting on your exploration save unless a particular pickup earns its place in your planned route.
Prepare for Immortal and Unhinged
One Life Mode ends your run when you die. Extra health can absorb ordinary damage, but it cannot rescue you from instant-death hazards.
Collect accessible Life Cells before heading into difficult sections. Weigh every detour against the danger of reaching the pickup: a risky Energy Cell can end the attempt it was meant to support.
Practice these sections on a separate save:
- Ginso Tree escape: Rehearse the upward route and successive Bash targets.
- Forlorn Ruins: Learn the gravity-based platforming and escape sequence.
- Sorrow Pass: Identify spike routes, enemy positions, and lethal lasers.
- Mount Horu: Repeat all eight challenge rooms and the final escape.
Give Mount Horu dedicated practice time. Replaying the opening areas teaches you the opening areas; rehearse the late-game room that keeps ending your attempts.
Upgrade Spirit Flame before Horu if your run allows ability spending. Keep movement around lava and lasers deliberate, even when an enemy is pressuring you.
Follow This Completion Order
Organize your Ori and the Blind Forest achievements attempts around clear goals:
- Explore and learn the story. Collect cells, investigate secrets, and practice each newly acquired ability.
- Complete collection and combat cleanup. In the original release, finish outside objectives before entering Mount Horu.
- Finish the Ability Tree. Pursue Phenom alongside your exploration and remaining combat goals.
- Practice a direct route. Attempt Supersonic once you know where to go.
- Complete an ability-point-free run. Pursue Elite with a route built around its restriction.
- Rehearse difficult areas, then attempt survival challenges. Prepare for Immortal and, in the Definitive Edition, Unhinged.
Keep exploration, speed, and survival attempts focused. When a run fails, identify the specific jump, enemy, or timing mistake and practice that section before restarting.
FAQ
Which Ori and the Blind Forest achievements require special runs?
Supersonic requires finishing in under three hours, Elite requires completing the game without spending ability points, and Immortal requires finishing without dying. The Definitive Edition also includes Unhinged for completing One Life Mode.
Can I miss collectibles in the original game?
Yes. Check the Ginso Tree, Misty Woods, Forlorn Ruins, and Mount Horu carefully as you progress. Finish your cleanup elsewhere before entering Mount Horu, because entry cuts off your return to the rest of Nibel.
Does exploring 100% of the map unlock every secret achievement?
Map exploration and secret discovery have separate requirements. Master of the Forest tracks visiting the entire map, while No Stone Unturned requires finding every secret. Track both objectives during your collection run.
How should I prepare for One Life Mode?
Practice escapes and Mount Horu on a separate save, then plan a route with accessible health upgrades. Learn which hazards cause instant death, and avoid introducing unfamiliar optional detours during a serious attempt.
